ประวัติความเป็นมา

  • วันครูเริ่มต้นขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2500 ตามมติของคณะรัฐมนตรีที่กำหนดให้วันที่ 16 มกราคมของทุกปีเป็นวันครู
  • มีการกำหนดวันนี้เพื่อรำลึกถึงพระคุณของครู และเพื่อเป็นการสร้างขวัญกำลังใจให้กับครูทั่วประเทศ
  • วันที่ 16 มกราคม เป็นวันประกาศใช้ พระราชบัญญัติครู พ.ศ. 2488 ซึ่งเป็นกฎหมายฉบับแรกที่กำหนดสถานะและสิทธิของครูในประเทศไทย

ความสำคัญของครู

ครูเป็นบุคคลสำคัญในสังคมไทยตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน เนื่องจาก:

  1. เป็นผู้ให้ความรู้: ครูทำหน้าที่ให้ความรู้เพื่อสร้างคนในสังคมที่มีคุณภาพ
  2. เป็นผู้ปลูกฝังคุณธรรม: นอกจากความรู้แล้ว ครูยังมีบทบาทในการสร้างค่านิยมและจริยธรรมในเยาวชน
  3. เป็นผู้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจ: ครูช่วยผลักดันศิษย์ให้ค้นพบศักยภาพและเส้นทางในชีวิต

กิจกรรมในวันครู

  1. พิธีทางศาสนา:
    • จัดให้มีพิธีทำบุญตักบาตรเพื่อเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษา
  2. พิธีรำลึกถึงพระคุณครู:
    • มีการอ่านบท “คำปฏิญาณตนของครู” และกล่าวสดุดีครู
  3. การมอบรางวัล:
    • มอบเกียรติบัตรให้ครูที่มีผลงานดีเด่นหรือครูที่เกษียณอายุราชการ
  4. กิจกรรมเชิงสร้างสรรค์:
    • นิทรรศการความรู้ การจัดเสวนา และกิจกรรมศิลปะเพื่อรำลึกถึงบทบาทของครู

บทบาทในระดับสากล

  • แม้ว่าวันครูของไทยจะจัดในวันที่ 16 มกราคม แต่ในระดับโลกมี วันครูโลก (World Teachers’ Day) จัดขึ้นทุกวันที่ 5 ตุลาคม โดยองค์การยูเนสโก เพื่อยกย่องบทบาทของครูในระดับนานาชาติ

คำขวัญวันครู

ทุกปี กระทรวงศึกษาธิการจะกำหนดคำขวัญสำหรับวันครู เช่น:

  • คำขวัญวันครู 2568:“ครูจุดประกายความฝัน ผลักดันให้กล้าคิด สร้างโอกาสในชีวิตให้เด็กไทย”
  • คำขวัญวันครู 2567: “ครูวางฐานคิด ส่งเสริมศิษย์สร้างสรรค์”
  • คำขวัญวันครู 2566: “ครูดี ศิษย์ดี มีอนาคต”
  • คำขวัญวันครู 2565: “พัฒนาครู พัฒนาเด็ก เรียนรู้สู่อนาคต”

“ข้าพเจ้าขอปฏิญาณตนต่อพระพุทธเจ้า ว่าข้าพเจ้าจะเป็นครูที่ดี มีความประพฤติดี และตั้งใจปฏิบัติหน้าที่ของตนให้ดีที่สุด เพื่อเกียรติยศและศักดิ์ศรีแห่งวิชาชีพครู”
